I’m a big believer that decorative accessories bring the magic to a space. It’s the finishing touches that take a room from fine to fabulous. So when I attended the mega High Point Market this fall, I not only scoured showrooms for the latest furniture introductions, I also kept my eyes peeled for decorative accents that would complete our clients’ spaces in style. Here are a few of my favorite finds.
Amazing Find 1: Nature-Inspired Vases and Home Décor
Every space can benefit from a touch of nature – or at least an element or two inspired by the great outdoors. The striking vases and other decorative accents from Art Floral Trading fit the bill. Their designs mimic patterns, textures and colors found in nature.

These eye-catching pieces are hand-made by skilled artisans in Thailand. The vases are water-tight so perfectly functional for flower arrangements. But these sculptural beauties can stand alone as mini works of art in a space.

I was drawn to the unusual, colorful glazes used to finish the pieces. And I like that the company offers vases in varying sizes. The smaller-scale pieces will bring a bit of whimsy to a side table or nightstand without taking up too much valuable real estate.
Amazing Find 2: Ready-Made Decorative Pillows
I tend to take a more-is-more approach when it comes to adding decorative throw pillows to a furniture arrangement. We typically specify custom creations for our clients’ spaces. But the high-end, ready-made pillows from the Piper Collection caught my eye in High Point.

This woman-owned brand features exclusive designs in fun color combinations and plush textures. There’s really something for almost every taste and style.

Sewn in the USA, their pillows come in several shapes and sizes. Piper is branching out in the soft-goods market and recently introduced hassock stools covered in their original textiles. Upholstered stools are another great way to add functional beauty to a space. We can’t wait to layer a few of their pillows and stools into client projects.
Amazing Find 3: Distinctive Onyx Lighting
Incorporating organic materials is one of our favorite ways to add texture and interest to a space. So imagine how happy I was to stumble upon these stunning onyx lamps from Texas-based BS Trading Co!

The Texas-based company produces onyx lamps in an assortment of styles – cylinder, cube, rectangle and hexagons. The look reminds me of paper-bag luminaries – except these electrified pieces are more permanent and stunning. I think they would bring contemporary, organic flair to any home. But wouldn’t they be especially cool in a mountain or country retreat? I can see them in the (imaginary) space now…
Amazing Find 4: Rattan Decorative Accessories
Baskets and other woven accents are another great way to introduce natural textures and functional beauty to a room. Matahari’s handcrafted options stopped me in my tracks at this fall’s market.

The company works with artisans in Southeast Asia to produce a smorgasbord of rattan offerings – everything from baskets and trays to dog beds and umbrella stands.
Their exquisitely crafted baskets would be great for hiding clutter on a bookshelf. And their trays would come in handy for corralling miscellaneous objects on a coffee table or the kitchen counter.

I’m obsessed with these practical-and-pretty trays with an on-trend scalloped detail and versatile white-wash finish.
Amazing Find 5: Luxury Quilted Bedding
Nothing pampers quite like sumptuous bedding. Sure, bedding might be more of a necessity than an accessory, but it’s certainly the important final layer that completes any bedroom space. Orchids Lux Home offers a stunning array of luxurious options. Their offerings include duvet covers, coverlets, quilts and shams in cotton velvet, cotton sateen, linen and more.

The brand has been around for quite a while, but at this fall’s market, I was drawn to their quilted velvet coverlets, offered in a wide range of quiet colors that are perfect for creating an indulgent primary bedroom or a restful guest room.

We all deserve a beautiful, comfortable place to rest and recharge. With its plush quilted texture, this soft, high-thread-count bedding would go a long way.
Accessories Make the Space
To be honest, I didn’t initially intend to dedicate this post to decorative accessories. I planned to cover a wider range of favorite finds from High Point Market, as a follow-on to last month’s post on the top 2025 interior design trends I observed at the fall event. But as I looked through photos I snapped during my trip and started listing my favorites, an accessory thread emerged. And here we are.
It really should come as no surprise that I devoted so much time in High Point to finding new accessory sources and meeting new accessory vendors. The finishing touches are so important to every project! Many of our sources are available to-the-trade only, and we enjoy offering clients unusual, hard-to-find pieces that bring personality to their spaces. Lately, we’ve been very busy putting those final touches on a few client spaces – just in time for the holidays.
We wish you a festive holiday season and a happy new year!
