When our client approached us to reimagine her first-floor spaces, she requested a touch of the unexpected. We combined feminine hues, large-scale patterns, and bits of shimmer and shine to create the sophisticated, welcoming spaces she envisioned.
Taking a holistic approach, we first gave the foyer a more expansive feel by removing part of a wall. The space’s spirited wallpaper, with a larger-than-life floral motif, introduces the feminine, but not-too-sweet color story we carried into the living room. There, a moody-pink wall paint, with a subtle metallic sheen, sets a glamorous tone.
The furnishings throughout are a blend of new and old, traditional and modern, refined and rustic. Family heirlooms mingle with acrylic in the living room, while the dining room’s eclectic mix of finishes imparts the informal, European feel the homeowner was after.
The end result reflects our client’s personality to a tee—just as a thoughtfully designed home should.
“Most designers have their own style and then use that same style on all of their work. Andrea is very different in this regard. Andrea spends the time to get to know her clients and their individual preferences/styles. Thus, as you will see on her website, most of her work varies at each home. I have a very traditional home and yet I like a Spanish touch. Andrea was able to pull it off. The result was beautiful. I just don’t see that anyone else could have done it.”
