After living with bland, builder-grade finishes for over a decade, our client was ready for an upgrade. Through a combination of structural and cosmetic changes, A. Houck Designs completely transformed her condominium. We wove a cohesive look throughout, introducing a higher level of finishes and stylish furnishings.
First, we integrated the kitchen, living and dining areas into a single space by removing part of a wall. The kitchen then underwent a dramatic makeover. The selections are anything but basic; we juxtaposed a rough-hewn, mosaic backsplash with shiny black countertops. Both bathrooms received luxurious, thoughtful re-dos too.
A scheme of muted greens and earth tones, the client’s favorite palette, impart coziness and warmth. We selected sleek, perfectly scaled furniture to maximize every inch of space. Textures and materials—such as the living room’s pressed-glass fireplace surround—lend sophistication and interest. In the window-lined living and dining areas, we installed long panels crafted in a loose weave that filter light but don’t impede the stunning view.
This renovation and redesign packed a lot of functionality and personality into a petite condominium space.
