As we redesigned our longtime clients’ empty nest, our mission was two-fold: to bring vibrant personality to their spaces, while keeping the home’s future resale value in mind. Our strategy: to combine bold decorative choices with neutral finishes that would stand the test of time.
We layered the spaces with color, texture and pattern, along with eclectic furnishings and unexpected touches. In the dining room, a deep-red wallpaper embossed with gold flowers sets a dramatic tone, augmented by the cluster of hammered-iron pendants hanging over the table. The vivid color palette flows into the living room, where worldly textiles and artwork reflect the wife’s travels. Shades of blue bring a tranquil vibe to the primary suite.
We completely reimagined the kitchen with a more functional plan, improved storage, and a fresh new look. A multi-tasking, L-shaped station replaced a separate island and awkward breakfast bar that divided the kitchen and dining room. Cabinetry in warm wood tones offset light, neutral countertops and backsplash tiles.
Balance was the key to success for this whole-house re-do. The end result is lively yet livable.
“Andrea is fantastic! She took me from concept to finished living and dining room in a smooth and stress free process. I am super pleased with the look. I had wasted a lot of money trying to put pieces together and if I had started with Andrea I would have achieved my beautiful house quicker and with less expense. She is wonderful to work with… I highly recommend her!
I have worked with Andrea for over 5 years and she has helped me design several rooms in my home… and we are continuing to work together. I have found every aspect of working with her to be delightful, I like that she listens carefully to my ideas and preferences and then shows me options that conform with that as well as some that push me to be more creative. We agreed on wallpaper for a hall bath that just wows everyone who comes into the house…, and my kitchen still a work in progress is a delight.”
