Our repeat clients asked us to inject warmth and personality into the family’s hang-out space in their Colonial-style home. Our nature-inspired design won a First Place Award of Excellence from the local chapter of ASID—American Society of Interior Designers.
Cuing off the wife’s love of nature, we mixed earthy colors, rich textures and finishes, and botanical motifs. We started by reimaging the fireplace, replacing its bright-white builder grade finish with a custom mahogany faux finish that lends depth and plays well with the existing natural-stone surround. Grass cloth wraps around the walls and embroidered-linen hang at the windows.
Comfortable, transitional-style furniture—including two chenille-covered sofas flanking the fireplace—seats a crowd. The bespoke cocktail table and streamlined console we commissioned for the space add form and function. Vibrant artwork from two local artists completes the ensemble.
The inviting, nature-inspired family room welcomes family and friends with ease.
