Our clients knew the spaces in their vintage split-level home felt off-kilter, filled with furnishings that didn’t fit the scale or impeded flow. They asked us to provide functional, stylish solutions.
In the living room, we eschewed the traditional sofa-and-two-chairs plan and instead arranged four armchairs around a grouping of round accent tables. Natural materials and textures, along with a nature-inspired palette, endow the space with a Zen-like vibe.
On the other hand, a symphony of spirited patterns and colors matches the tenor of family life in the great room. We moved the existing oversized sectional to the lower level and replaced it a curved sofa, which we paired with orange-leather club chairs. Bold abstract artwork (with the help of an exuberant paisley fabric on the host and hostess chairs) brings verve to the dining area.
