After purchasing a contemporary new-build, a couple with young children enlisted us to design a lower-level billiards room. The husband is an avid pool player and wanted a fun space to host friendly competitions. A. Houck Designs upped the ante and delivered a multi-purpose hangout the whole family could enjoy.
To start, we banished the large space’s cavernous feel by installing a cool-factor, geometric wallcovering. Our pragmatic floor plan delineated zones for hanging out/watching TV, playing pool, and relaxing/reading. For the furniture, we mingled plush seating with bespoke pieces commissioned for the space; a Brunswick pool table serves as the centerpiece.
